Client Spotlight: Ponte Vedra Beach Home
Project Overview
When Armita B. and her husband purchased their Ponte Vedra Beach home, they saw the potential for a pool and cabana in the grassy backyard. Her husband wanted a BADU SwimJet in the pool for triathlon training, while Armita envisioned a relaxing pool area and cabana bar for entertaining. Clarkson Pools brought those priorities together in an outdoor space designed for everyday use.

The Challenges
The project needed to balance the property’s practical requirements with the couple’s plans for the space.

Our Approach
One of the biggest advantages Clarkson Pools brought to Armita’s project was the ability to build both the pool and cabana. She had previously considered a pool company that would have required a separate contractor for the cabana. As both a licensed pool contractor and general contractor, Clarkson Pools could manage her entire backyard transformation under one roof—simplifying the process from design and planning through coordination and construction.
The Pool Design and Outdoor Living teams worked collaboratively throughout the project, shaping the pool, cabana and surrounding spaces into one cohesive design. Together, they helped Armita select stone, refine the layout and incorporate her preferred color scheme.

That coordinated approach extended to the construction details, from protecting her paver driveway along the equipment route to building a retaining wall behind the cabana for long-term structural support. The teams also accommodated changes along the way, including updating the steps to complement the surrounding finishes. With one company overseeing the full scope, Armita didn’t have to coordinate multiple contractors and enjoyed a more streamlined experience from start to finish.

The Solution
A rectangular pool and custom cabana created connected spaces for exercise and entertaining, with coordinated stone finishes and a walkway linking the house and cabana.

A swim jet feature allows the client to swim against a current for strength and endurance training in the clean-lined pool he now uses every day.

The custom cabana includes a bar and outdoor kitchen with room for four or five chairs, giving family and friends a place to spend time together beside the pool.
A Connected Backyard
A stone walkway coordinated steps, and a retaining wall help the outdoor spaces work together across the property’s changing elevations.
The Results
The completed backyard has become part of the couple’s daily routine. Armita’s husband swims every day, their daughters have enjoyed the space during visits, and a gathering of about 30 guests gave friends a chance to see the transformation.

Clarkson Pools has continued to support the client after construction. The team helped address runoff following a heavy rainstorm, explained the pool’s operation and remained available for questions. Armita also tapped Clarkson Pools for weekly pool maintenance, with text and email updates that include photos if the service technician identifies any points of interest during a visit.
Armita is confident in the maintenance expertise, saying, “Anything that was wrong, they took care of it. Even before I knew about it, they took care of it.”
