St. Augustine Beach Renovation

Located in St. Augustine Beach, this Clarkson Pools renovation project reimagined an existing backyard into a refined coastal retreat designed for both entertaining and everyday relaxation. The renovation focused on improving functionality, modernizing finishes, and creating new outdoor gathering spaces while preserving the character and scale of the original environment.

At the center of the project is a fully renovated swimming pool featuring a reconfigured layout that enhances usability and creates stronger visual flow throughout the outdoor space. A portion of the original swim lane was thoughtfully filled to improve the overall functionality and gathering space within the backyard. Separate from that modification, custom bluestone stepping pads with integrated bubblers were introduced as a dedicated water feature element, adding movement, texture, and a unique architectural transition within the pool design. The updated layout also incorporates a spacious sunshelf area designed for shallow-water lounging and relaxation.

The raised spa was completely transformed with new tile finishes, updated fittings, new plaster, and an extended spillway detail that visually connects the spa to the main pool. Adjacent to the spa, a custom raised linear fire feature creates a dramatic focal point that brings warmth and ambiance to the backyard experience during evening entertaining.

Throughout the renovation, the existing decking and coping were replaced with premium mud-set bluestone pavers and matching bluestone coping, helping establish a clean, timeless coastal aesthetic that complements the architecture of the home. Additional upgrades included new LED lighting, updated plumbing and circulation systems, automation enhancements, new waterline tile, and replastering throughout the pool and spa.

The completed project blends fire, water, natural stone, and modernized functionality into one cohesive outdoor living environment—creating a backyard retreat designed to enrich outdoor living in St. Augustine Beach.
